I am doing a summary. Last time I did a not so good job, even though I had my parents check it.
I need to make sure I have absolutely NO opinions.
If I didn’t give you enough information about the summary, please tell me. And I am not worried about the information IN the summary, just making sure that it is okay.

Fast Food

While Los Angeles is banning fast-food restaurants to improve people’s diets, some are wondering whether it is the government’s business where everyone can or can’t eat. Although one-third of America’s children are obese, many ask if eating certain foods is a personal choice or a public-health concern. “Critics say they go beyond the proper role of government, and are emblematic of a trend toward what they call “the nanny state”.” (The New York Times Upfront magazine, p. 12). Because healthier foods cost more money, it is more convenient to buy the unhealthy fast-food. And these low priced, fast-food chains target young people and others with not as much money. They are of course going to buy the cheaper food, which is food coming from places such as McDonald’s. “Supporters of the ban say making healthy decisions about food is difficult when people don’t have a lot of money, the grocery store is five miles away, and a $1 cheeseburger is right around the corner.” (The New York Times Upfront magazine, p. 13). As a democracy, people have the right to make their own choices about their lifestyles and when they make bad choices the government has to step in. But when the government steps in, many get what they don’t want.

For the third answerer, thank you I do agree. But these are actually facts coming from the magazine. Well they are not necessarily facts, but the same information was stated in the article. But thank you. If it was not in the article, I would take it out. And the quote does support it, so it leans more on the fact side. But again, I will check it. Thanks!
Oh, and I did revise the last two lines a little bit to this:

As a democracy, people have the right to make their own choices about their lifestyles and when they make bad choices the government steps in. But when the government steps in, many get what they don’t want.

I changed it from the government has to step in to the government steps in. Also, I asked my dad and he said that it is not an opinion because it is true. The government always, whether they have to or not, deals with issues like this. I am still not too sure about it, so you can correct me.

New York Considers Legislation to Ban Salt in Restaurants

New York Considers Legislation to Ban Salt in Restaurants

Not content with just trying to tax soft drinks, New York’s nanny-state politicians are also considering legislation to prohibit the use of salt in the preparation of restaurant food. Assemblyman Felix Ortiz introduced this absurdist bill on March 5. Ortiz is one of New York’s more strident food cops, having already introduced strict restaurant menu labeling proposals in the past. He is also following in the steps of fellow food nanny Mayor Michael Bloomberg who went so far as to compare salt to carcinogenic asbestos.

Reality check: Besides representing another attempt to run people’s lives, regulating salt intake would have few to no health benefits. A University of California study published last year found that our bodies naturally regulate sodium intake, ensuring that sodium levels remain within a certain range at all times.

Hi,

I’m moving to New York City next summer. I will have graduated with a BSBA in General Management. I’ve been a nanny for two years and that is my only job experience. What sort of jobs can I hope to find? And what kind of starting wage would I be looking at?

Thanks!

I know this is not an important question but I was just wondering. She lives in a penthouse atop the Plaza in New York city with her Nanny, why doesn’t she live with her mother? (she does have a mother because her mother always visits for Christmas)
