Hi Mothers and Nannies,

Need your help. This situation is a little unusual. I’m a part-time “nanny” or mother’s helper for 5 month old twin girls and a 2.5 year old boy. (3 children) I’ve been working with the family for over 4 months and they want to hire me full time. 40-50 hours a week. Roughly 9am-7pm Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri and 10am-3pm Tues, and Sat.

I work side by side with the mom and am only alone with all three kids for a few hours at most (if at all).

I live in New York City, single, 24 yrs old, female, and educated. I currently get paid $20/hr babysitting, but I imagine it would work out to less than that per hour as a weekly salary.

Given the circumstances, what’s a fair weekly wage? What’s a fair rate for off the books vs. on the books.
